Who We AreMicrogrid Initiatives began in 2013 as Microgrid Institute, a collaborative organization supporting development of microgrids and distributed energy assets. Since then MGI principals have supported multiple microgrid projects and related efforts, serving in such roles as development manager, owner's representative, project manager, facilitator, consultant, grant writer, and grants manager. In addition to supporting microgrid development and construction projects, we also serve as prime contractor for non-construction grant-funded projects. We initiate and lead collaborative projects with multiple stakeholders and development partners, including host communities, technology leaders, legal and policy analysts, finance firms, engineers, constructors, and academics at leading research and policy institutions.
